India have been drawn with Indonesia, Denmark, and England in the Group D for the BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2025 to be held in Xiamen, the People’s Republic of China, from April 27 to May 4.
The Sudirman Cup, hosted by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), is a mixed team event held biennially.
Men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles are the five ties included in each match.
16 teams will compete in the 19th edition of Sudirman Cup where defending champions China are top seeded while Indonesia, the People’s Republic of Korea and Japan are seeded second, third and fourth, respectively.
Sudirman Cup 2025 Badminton Groups
- Group A: China, Hong Kong China, Thailand, Algeria
- Group B: South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Canada, Czechia
- Group C: Japan, Malaysia, France, Australia
- Group D: India, Indonesia, Denmark, England
India qualified for the Sudirman Cup 2025 via their rankings.
Winners from the mixed team Continental Championships of Africa, Oceania and Pan America also will also take part in the Sudirman Cup.
China are the most successful team with 13 titles. The Republic of Korea has four titles while Indonesia has one to its name.
India’s best results came in 2011 and 2017 when they reached the quarter-finals.
