The Athletics Federation Of India (AFI) has decided to drop the women’s 4x400m squad for next month’s Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea.

National Games champion Aishwarya Mishra, who is the fastest runner of this season, and Kiran Pahal missed the Federation Cup in Kochi.

Olympian Jyothika Sri Dandi was rejected for the National meet as she had competed in another event prior to the event.

“We are not prepared for the international event (in the women’s relay) at the moment,” said AFI president Bahadur Singh Sagoo.

The AFI announced the squad for Asian Athletics Championships on Friday.
