Malaysia women’s singles coach Jeffer Robinson has parted ways with the national association amid the ongoing German Open 2025.
Jeffer was initially appointed as the junior coach in 2023. He was elevated to overlook the senior women’s singles progress in 2024. The women’s singles coach is retiring to spend more time with his family.
The Indonesian coach was supposed to get over in Novemeber.
“I have decided to leave BAM to spend more time with my wife and three children in Jakarta,” he said on Friday.
“Initially, I wanted to leave after the World Junior Championships in October last year but decided to stay on and take up the challenge of coaching the women’s singles players.
“But I feel the time is right for me to move on.
“Yesterday (Thursday, Feb 27) was my last day here.
“I want to thank BAM and coach Rexy (Mainaky) for giving me this opportunity. God willing, I could come back here if the chance comes again in the future.”
Under Jeffer’s tutelage, Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing won a gold medal in the boys’ doubles in World Junior meet while Dania Sofea-Low Zi Yu captured silver in the girls’ doubles.
Tan Bin Shen and Poh Chai Boon are the other coaches to have left the Badminton Association of Malaysia recently.
