2025 World Athletics Relays: USA Name Nine Olympians In 29-Member Squad

Team USA named a 29-member strong squad for the 2025 World Athletics Relays, slated to run on May 10 and 11  in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China.

Among the 29 named, nine athletes are Olympians, with six competing in the recent Paris 2024.

Erriyon Knighton, Kenny Bednarek, and Twanisha ‘TeeTee’ Terry will be the key athletes in the US squad.

Terry was crowned the Olympic champion in Paris as a part of the women’s 4x 100m relay team while Bednarek was a member of the men’s 4x 100m relay team that was disqualified from the final at Paris 2024. He was also a part of the team which won the  2024 World Relays in Nassau.

Two-time Olympic medalists Kendall Ellis and Lynna Irby-Jackson and Rio 2016 women’s 4 x 400m relay champion Courtney Okolo also feature in the squad.

The team also includes Tokyo 2020 relay bronze medallist Elija Godwin also included in the roster.

The top 14 countries in each relay will qualify for the 2025 World Athletics Championships being held later this year in Tokyo, Japan.
