Malaysian doubles coach Herry Iman Pierngadi is unsure about Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik’s participation in the 2025 Orleans Masters, slated to run from March 4 to 9, as the former’s old wrist surgery has resurfaced.

“I can’t give an answer on that yet. We need to assess Aaron’s condition there. If there’s an opportunity for them to play at the Orleans Masters, why not?” said national men’s doubles head coach Herry Iman Pierngadi.

Herry said that the 2025 All England Badminton Championships will be the main goal for the pair.

“But whether they achieve it (All England target) depends on their condition in England. Last year, they reached the final.

“If Aaron’s condition holds up, at the very least, they should be able to make it to the semi-finals or even the final again,” he said recently.

Herry believes that Aaron’s right wrist injury will not affect their participation at 2025 All England Badminton Championships, beginning on March 11.

The Orleans Masters will be a warm-up for the prestigious event. Aaron-Wooi Yik were the runners-up in Birmingham, last year.

Malaysia will be represented by seven doubles player at the All England Open, including, Aaron-Wooi Yik, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King and Chong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri.

World No. 2 Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Nur Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong will also participate at the event.
