Arjuna Awardee Nitu Ghanghas (Haryana) delivered a statement victory on Day 2 of the 8th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship 2025, on Saturday.
She clinched a dominant victory over Rajasthan’s Anjali Choudhary in the Minimum weight category (45-48kg) to storm into the next round at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.
In another clash, two-time World Youth Champion Sakshi (54kg) and Olympian Jaismine Lamboria (57kg), representing the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), clinched victories against their opponents on Saturday.
Jasmine clinched a comprehensive victory over Uttar Pradesh’s Ice Prajapati while Bhiwani’s Sakshi clinched a dominating :50 victory over Punjab’s Sandeep Kaur.
The Women’s Boxing Nationals is being hosted by BFI in association with the Uttar Pradesh Boxing Association.
Anamika Hooda (Railways), Youth World Champion Devika Ghorpade (Maharashtra), Kunjarani Devi (Manipur), Poonam (Railways), Minakshi (AIP) , Savita (RSPB) , Nandana C, clinched victories in their respective categories.
Several big names, including Olympic boxers, were missing from the tournament.
