Raj Angad Bawa is an Indian cricketer born on November 12, 2002, in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, and raised in Chandigarh. He is a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler.

Raj gained prominence during the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, notably scoring an unbeaten 162 against Uganda, the highest individual score by an Indian in the tournament’s history. In the final against England, he delivered a match-winning performance with figures of 5/31, earning the Player of the Match award and helping India clinch the title

Raj’s Olympic connection stems from his grandfather, Tarlochan Singh Bawa, who was a member of the Indian hockey team that won the gold medal at the 1948 London Olympics.

Tarlochan played a crucial role in the final against Great Britain, scoring a goal in India’s 4-0 victory. This familial legacy of sporting excellence has been a significant inspiration in Raj’s cricketing journey.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Raj was initially acquired by the Punjab Kings in 2022 but had limited opportunities.

Ahead of the 2025 season, he was signed by the Mumbai Indians. On April 4, 2025, Raj made his debut for Mumbai Indians, stepping in for the injured Rohit Sharma in a match against Lucknow Super Giants.
