Who Is Orleans Masters Champion, Priyanshu Rajawat?

Priyanshu Rajawat is an emerging star in the badminton circuit. He has shown his opponents, including top-seeded Kenta Nishimota, that he belongs to the top level.

His 2025 campaign has not got off as he lost the Malaysia Open in the first round and the same fate followed in the India Open and Indonesia Masters. In the German Open 2025, he made it to the second round.

The promising young talent had won nothing bigger than the Thomas Cup (team event) last year and the India Chattisgarh International Challenge in September 2022.

Priyanshu Rajawat Announces Himself On International Stage

Rajawat, truly, announced himself by winning all the matches en route Orleans Masters final.

The World No.58 displayed his attacking approach in the five matches, engaging his oppositions in long rallies before killing it.

In the semi-finals, he defeated Nhat Nguyen, world no. 35, of Ireland in straight games in 44 minutes.

He uses rallies and defence to the fore.

Trains At Pullela Gopichand Academy

Rajawat trains at the Pullela Gopichand academy since 2010. He has modelled his game like his seniors Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy. The youngster is also  influenced by Sameer Verma’s reflex actions.

The Dhar-native began playing badminton at the age of six, following the footsteps of his elder brother Kunal Rajawat. Two years later, his game plan impressed Gopichand and he took the boy under his wings.

India’s chief coach Gopichand has cautioned Priyanshu to be patient with his game as he used to be fierce in approach and wanted to finish game quickly.
