Tejas Shirse continued his National Record-breaking spree in the Men’s 60m hurdles event at the Elite Indoor Track Miramas Meeting 2025 athletics on Friday, for the second time in two weeks.

The 22-year-old eclipsed his record by 0.01 seconds in the race to clinch a historic silver medal at the Stadium Miramas Metropole in Miramas, France. The new National Record, thus, stands at 7.64.

He finished third at the heat with a timing of 7.70.

The Indian hurdler, however, missed out on the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2025 qualification standard (7.57) by 0.07 seconds.

Spain’s Enrique Llopis topped the podium with a timing of 7.54 seconds while former World Champion Wilhem Belocian of France finished second, clocking 7.67.

The Elite Indoor Track Miramas Meeting is a World Athletics Indoor Tour silver level meet.

Last week in Luxembourg, the Indian hurdler clocked 7.65 seconds at an indoor meeting to set a new mark.

Meanwhile, Jyoti Yarraji finished fifth in the women’s 60m hurdles in Miramas, clocking 8.10s, 0.06s short of her National Record in Nantes, last week.

France’s Laëticia Bapté won the race with a timing of 7.93 seconds.

Yarraji finished third in her heat with 8.20s.

Shirse and Yarraji will be next seen in action at the Meeting de l’Eure in France on Sunday.
