Paris 2024 gold medalist Arshad Nadeem met Pakistan legend Wasim Akram in Lahore on Friday.
The Pakistan track and field superstar was invited to the annual day function at Deaf Reach School to promote the values of determination, inclusivity, and the need for education for specially abled children.
“Humbled to meet the legend himself, @wasimakramliveofficial in Lahore! What an honor to share some moments with the Sultan of Swing. His passion for sports and dedication to Pakistan is truly inspiring!,” Nadeem said on X, sharing a video of his interaction with the Pakistan pace legend turned broadcaster.
Earlier this year, Nadeem created history for Pakistan in Paris 2024 by becoming the first Olympian to clinch a gold medal. It ended the medal drought for Pakistan at the quadrennial showpiece event since 1992.
He set an Olympic Record of 92.97m to take the top podium spot to finish ahead of his Indian rival and Tokyo 2020 gold medalist Neeraj Chopra (89.45m).
