Travis Head is a nightmare for the Indians ever since he played the match-winning knock for Australia in the 2024 World Cup against India.
Since that innings, every time India played against Australia, it became important to dismiss the top-order batter early. Head has scored 1802 runs against India at an average of 42 in 33 matches.
However, IPL champions KKR have found a way to keep the Australian quiet. He was dismissed for a duck for the third time in the clash between KKR and SRH at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
The last two times he has been dismissed by Vaibhav Arora.
Overall, Head has scored 79 runs for KKR since 2017. He averages 26.33 with the highest score of an unbeaten 75 with a strike rate of 151.92.
Talking about the match, SRH captain Pat Cummins said: “Not a great time. I think this was gettable, pretty good wicket. Left too many in the field and then fell well short in the end. We need to be realistic, three games in a row it hasn’t come off for us. We need to maybe look back at whether we could have chosen better options. Our batters are best when they take the game on, but looking back maybe we could have taken different options. (On what went wrong) It was mainly our fielding, overall bowling wasn’t bad. We should have taken a few catches and stopped them a bit earlier,” he said.
