Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka brought back the memories of last season after his intense chat with Rishabh Pant in the IPL 2025 on Tuesday.
Goenka has now developed a reputation for making the captains accountable for defeats through his wrath of words. This moment exploded the internet with fans comparing it with KL Rahul’s scenario in IPL 2024.

Pant became the most expensive player in the IPL auction after he was sold for INR 27 lakh in the mega auction.
“It (the total) wasn’t enough, we were 20-25 runs short, but that’s part and parcel of the game. Still assessing the conditions at our home ground. It’s always going to be difficult to get a big total when you lose early wickets, but each and every player is trying hard to take the game forward,” Pant who was bought for INR 27 crore said after the match.
“The idea was to get a slow wicket. I think the slower balls were sticking in. We got to learn from this game and move forward. There are a lot of positives, can’t say much,” he added.
Last season, Goenka had a heated exchange with KL Rahul after their 10-wicket loss to SunRisers Hyderabad. The public reprimand, however, was solved in the public’s eye with Goenka hosting Rahul for a private dinner.
Rahul was not retained ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction and was bought for INR 14 crore by Delhi Capitals.
