Gujarat Titans’ newcomer Mohammad Siraj set the tone for the IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Playing against his former side, Siraj ran through the top and middle order, returning figures of 3/19 to restrict RCB to 169/8.
In the four overs spell, he showed what RCB were missing in their bowling. He also had an emotional moment with former RCB captain Virat Kohli where he pulled up from bowling.
Incidentally, a day before the match Siraj and Kohli exchanged hugs. The fast bowler also pointed towards the new jersey he’s wearing to remind the former Indian captain about their days in the past.
“I was a bit emotional. I was here for 7 years, changed jersery from red to blue and was emotional but once I got the ball I was fine. I am Ronaldo’s fan and hence the celebration,” Siraj, who was adjudged the man of the match, said.
“I had been playing consistently, but during the break I corrected my mistakes and worked on my fitness. Once I was picked up by Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He (Nehra) tells me to go enjoy your bowling and Ishu (Ishant) Bhai tells me what line and length to bowl. My mindset is to have belief and then the pitch does not matter,” he added.
Gujarat Titans are currently at the fourth spot with two wins from three matches while RCB are third due to theiir superior net run rate.
