The Badminton Association Of Malaysia (BAM) has dismissed the talks of Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah leaving the national team.
BAM secretary general Datuk Kenny Goh is optimistic that Pearly Tan and M.Thinaah will remain with the Malaysian team.
“Pearly-Thinaah are still BAM players. We have not heard anything about them leaving,” said Kenny.
“I believe they are staying with BAM. We are still in discussions with them regarding their contract.”
Pearly and Thinaah are among the best women’s doubles players in the world and have received offers to turn professionals.
The pair is currently preparing for the Badminton Asia Championships in China next week followed by the Sudirman Cup at the end of the month.
As per Malaysian media reports, the national body had offered lucrative offers to some players with World No. 6 Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik among the first.
Meanwhile, World No.2 Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani left BAM in September last year.
