Neeraj Chopra-Himani Mor Secretly Tied The Knot At Kumarhatti-Based Resort

Spread the love

It’s difficult to keep a high-profile marriage so secretive as India’s double Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra did.

When the Tokyo 2020 gold medalist announced his marriage to Himani Mor, a tennis pro and coach, the entire sporting facility and beyond was taken by surprise.

Neeraj wrote, “Made life’s new beginning with my family.” He further wrote, “Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.”

He chose a resort in Kumarhatti, located amid pristine pine forests in Himachal Pradesh, barely 50km from Chandigarh for the special day.

The marriage was sure to grab media attention had it not been kept so secretive. But there were several restrictions implemented to make it a success with only 70-odd guests in attendance who were asked to keep their gadgets, including mobile phones, away from the wedding venue.

Even the staff of the resort near Gandhigram on the Kumarhatti-Nahan highway were sworn to secrecy and remained tight-lipped, reports The Tribune. Guests had checked-in on January 14 and the marriage took place the next day.

Most of the guests left on January 16 while Chopra was among the last to leave the next day.

The villagers were not surprised with the decorations taking place as the area is reputed for destination weddings.

Himani belongs to Larsauli village in Gannaur, Sonepat district. The couple had first met in the US.

“As the newlyweds have gone abroad for honeymoon, we will organise a reception after return to India,” Surender Chopra, his uncle, said.
