Ayush Mhatre is a promising 17-year-old Indian cricketer from Mumbai, born on July 16, 2007. He is a right-handed opening batter and occasional off-break bowler, representing Mumbai in domestic cricket.

Mhatre gained national attention during the 2024–25 Vijay Hazare Trophy when he broke Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record to become the youngest player to score 150 or more runs in a men’s List A match.

​On December 31, 2024, at just 17 years and 168 days old, Mhatre scored a remarkable 181 runs off 117 balls against Nagaland at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. His innings included 15 fours and 11 sixes, surpassing Jaiswal’s previous record of 17 years and 291 days when he scored 203 runs in 2019.

In addition to his List A success, Mhatre has shown promise in first-class cricket, scoring 504 runs in 9 matches at an average of 31.50, including two centuries with a top score of 176 .

As of April 2025, Mhatre has been signed by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as a replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad in the ongoing IPL 2025 season . His rapid rise through the ranks highlights his potential as a future star in Indian cricket.​
