Manush Shah, Gujarat Women’s Team Rewarded At GSTTA Ceremony

Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) doled out a massive INR 3.75 lakhs cash awards and gave away as many as 76 trophies in its effort to recognise the outstanding contributions of its state paddlers in their glittering Annual Awards Function held at Sports Club in Ahmedabad on 27th April, 2025-Sunday. GSTTA and Gujarat State Masters Table Tennis Committee jointly organised this grand ceremony.

The reigning national champion Manush Shah of Vadodara received a cash award of INR 2.5 lakhs while the state women’s team, consisting of Krittwika Sinha Roy, Oishiki Joardar, Frenaz Chipia, Filzah Fatema Kadri and Riya Jayswal, was rewarded with INR 1.5 lakhs for their historic bronze medal in the 86th Senior National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships 2024.

The best Overall player award went to seasoned paddler Krittwika who had a prolific year where she grabbed gold medals at WTT Feeder Cagliari 2024 in Italy and WTT Feeder Caracas 2024 in Venezuela.

She came back with a silver and a bronze medal from WTT Feeder Cappadocia 2024 in Turkey. As captain of the team, Roy played a key role in helping the state women’s team win the historic bronze medal at the 86th Sr Nat’ls 2024 held in Surat. She capped off the year with yet another bronze medal at the 51st All India Inter-Institutional Championships 2024 held at Chandigarh.  

GSTTA acknowledged the efforts of state’s para paddlers including Tokyo Paralympics silver medallist Bhavina Patel and five others.

A total of 41 state veteran players, who returned with medals at the 31st National Masters Table Tennis Championships 2024, were also felicitated during the function.

GSTTA president shri Pramod Chaudhary said that the association is delighted to bring the state’s top paddlers of various categories under one roof to appreciate their year-long efforts.

“It’s been a great 2024-25 year for GSTTA and its paddlers. Apart from laurels won by our paddlers, GSTTA successfully organised many tournaments and camps in the state. Now, work has begun keeping the 2036 Olympic Games in mind which we hope will be hosted by India,” shri Chaudhary said.     

“Kudos to Gujarat State Masters TT Committee for joining hands with GSTTA to felicitate our state veteran paddlers,” said shri Hari Pillai, hon. Secretary, GSTTA.
