India’s top-ranked men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost to South Korea’s Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae in the semifinals of the Malaysia Open 2025 at the Axiata Arena on Saturday.
The World No.9 began on a slow note, trailing 6-11 in the opening game, to eventually lose 10-21 in just 19 minutes with the Koreans capitalizing strongly on their start.
The seventh seed returned stronger in the second game to take a 11-8 lead. They, however, couldn’t hold on to the advantage, losing15-21.
The pair will next feature in the India Open, starting January 14, where they will face Malaysia’s Wei Chong Man and Kai Wun Tee in the Round of 32.
