Wang Zifei, 18, clinched her first World Cup gold by winning the women’s 10m air rifle event in the Buenos Aires on Monday.
Wang achieved a final score of 254.1 points to take the top podium spot while Kwon Eun-ji of South Korea finished second and Olympic bronze medalist Audrey Gogniat of Switzerland took the third place.
Among the Indians, Narmadha Nitin Raju and Sonam Uttam Maskar finished at the sixth and eighth spot respectively.
After the first five shots in the final, Sonam and Narmada found themselves on the sixth and seventh spot respectively.
Despite closing in on Sonam’s 104.2 after 10 shots, Narmada remained stuck at seventh with a difference of 0.2. It was eventually Sonam who exit the lane with a low 9.9 off her 12th shot.
India is currently second on the medal tally with two gold, a silver and bronze.
