Indian Open Athletics 2025: Amlan Borgohain Wins 100m-200m; Yashas Palashka Takes Asian Lead

Amlan Borgohain cliched victories in the Men’s 100 and Men’s 200m events while Yashas Palaskha won the men’s 400m hurdles with an Asian leading time at the Indian Open Athletics 2025 meet in Nadiad, Gujarat, on Saturday.

Borgohain clocked 21.27s to win his first gold medal of the day while Jay Shah (21.59s) and Ruchit Mori (21.71s) claimed silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The Indian athlete then followed it up with 100m gold by timing 10.59s.

Jay Shah (10.68s) and Nayan Shah (10.78s) took the second and third spot respectively.

However, the Assam native could not breach Athletics Federation of India’s (AFI) entry standards in the 100m and 200m, which stand at 10.25s and 20.53s, respectively.

Meanwhile, Yashas Palashka, clocked the Asian leading time of the 2025 athletics season in men’s 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 49.63s.

The previous leading time was 49.73s, which was set by Japan’s Syota Fuchigami, last month.

Puja equalled India’s Under-20 national record and her personal best in the women’s high jump with a 1.85m effort.

The Indian Open Athletics features a series of meets with the next set to take place in Ranchi, Jharkhand on Saturday.
