Gurindervir Singh broke the men’s 100m National Record after clocking a time of 10.20s at the Indian Grand Prix 1 in Bengaluru on Friday.
Gurindervir, a Reliance Foundation athlete, bettered his previous record of 10.27s, which he got in 2011.
His compatriot from the Reliance Foundation, Manikanta Hob, finished two seconds behind him to take the silver medal, while Amlan Borgohai finished third with a timing of 10.43.
Gurindervir had emerged as the fastest man on Indian tracks with a 10.32-second sprint to win the 100m on Day Two of the 63rd Inter-State Athletics Championships in Panchkula, last year.
