India’s No.1 Anahat Singh clinched victory in the Round 2 of the JSW India Open 2025 Squash Tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old clinched victory over Spain’s Cristina Gomez 3-1 (11-5, 9-11, 11-5, 11-2) in 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, fifth seeded Joshna Chinappa got the better off Sofia Mateos from Spain with a scoreline of 3-0 (11-1, 11-7, 11-8). She displayed precision and control throughout the game to clinch victory in 20 minutes,
Top seeded Akansha Salunkhe began her campaign with a 3-1 (6-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-4) victory over Tanvi Khanna in 39 minutes.
In the men’s event, young Veer Chotrani registered a 3-1 (11-4, 10-12, 16-14, 11-6) win over Simon Herbert.
Sixth seeded Abhay Singh clinched a 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-7) over Melvil Scianimanico from France.
However, India’s men’s No.1 Ramit Tandon, crashed out after a loss against Malaysia’s Ameeshenraj Chandaran 3-2 (5-11, 1-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-6).
