German Open Badminton 2025 Day 2 Results: Priyanshu Rajawat Beats World No.1 Srikanth Kidambi

India’s rising shuttler Priyanshu Rajawat defeated former World No.1 Srikanth Kidambi at the German Open Badminton 2025 at the Westenergie Sporthalle in Mülheim an der Ruhr on Wednesday.

The World No.37 clinched a comfortable 21-14, 21-12 victory against his 45th-ranked Indian compatriot in a 35-minute match. Rajwat took a 2:0 lead against Srikanth in as many matches.

Rajawat will next take on France’s Toma Junior Popov in the Round of 16 clash on Thursday.

In the mixed doubles category, Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto defeated Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Gadde 21-16, 18-21, 21-17 in an all-Indian first-round match that lasted for an hour and two minutes while Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy-Sai Pratheek K won their R32 clash against  England’s Callum Hemming-Ethan Van Leeuwen
