Former England manager Gareth Southgate has been knighted in the New Year Honours List 2025.
Southgate led the Three Lions to two consecutive European Championship finals and the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, making him the most successful incumbent since Sir Alf Ramsey.
He became the fourth England manager after Ramsey, Sir Walter Winterbottom, and Sir Bobby Robson to receive a knighthood.
Southgate ‘richly deserved’ the honor, the Football Association chair Debbie Hewitt, said paying tribute to the 54-year-old.
