Mixed doubles pair Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto, who became the only Indian pair to reach the Badminton Asia Championships quarter-finals in China, moved to their career best 17th ranking in the latest BWF Rankings.

In the women’s singles event, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu dropped from 17th to 18th place after her round of 16 exit. Malvika Bansod (22nd), Rakshitha Sree (42nd), Anupama Upadhyaya (44th) and Aakarshi Kashyap (49th) are the other Indian shuttlers in Top 50.

In the men’s singles category, Lakshya Sen dropped two places to 18th while seasoned Indian campaigner HS Prannoy moved from 29th to 30th while Kiran George (35th) and Priyanshu Rajawat (36th) gained one and two places, respectively.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who did not participate in China, dropped one spot to the 11th ranking.

Meanwhile, the women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, dropped one spot to the 10th ranking after missing the continental championships. Olympians Tanisha and Ashwini Ponnappa maintained their 22nd rankings.
