Malaysian shuttler Justin Hoh eased into the Badminton Asia Championships 2025 main draw while Wong Ling Ching also secured her spot in the women’s singles competition.
The 21-year-old Group A in qualifiers on Tuesday with two commanding victories.
The World No.48 clinched victory against Amirhossein Hasani 21-6, 21-14 before overcoming Philippines’ Jewel Angelo Albo 21-9, 21-14.
Hoh will now look to replicate his form from the Kumamoto Masters in Japan last year as he takes on South Korea’s world No. 40 Jeon Hyeok Jin in the first round.
Meanwhile, Wong Ling Ching set up a first round clash with Indonesia’s world No. 41 Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi on Wednesday.
She topped the Group A after overcoming Myanmar’s Thet Htar Thuzar 21-16, 21-11.
The group initially had three players, but Hong Kong’s Happy Lo withdrew, leaving only two contenders.
