The 26th Asian Athletics Championships, held from May 27 to 31, 2025, in Gumi, South Korea, showcased remarkable performances from athletes across the continent.
As of Day 2, India secured a total of six medals, including two golds, positioning them among the top contenders in the championships.
India emerged prominently, securing multiple medals and setting new benchmarks in various events.

Gold Medals:
- Men’s 10,000m: Gulveer Singh clinched India’s first gold of the championships with a time of 28:38.63, outpacing competitors from Japan and Bahrain.
- 4x400m Mixed Relay: The Indian quartet—Rupal Chaudhary, Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan, T.K. Vishal, and Subha Venkatesan—successfully defended their title, clocking 3:18.12 to finish ahead of China and Sri Lanka.
Silver Medal:
- Women’s 400m: Rupal Chaudhary added to her accolades by securing silver in the individual 400m event, demonstrating consistency across both individual and team events.
Bronze Medal:
- Men’s 20km Race Walk: Servin Sebastian earned bronze with a commendable performance, contributing to India’s growing medal tally.
Notable Performances
- T.K. Vishal: After narrowly missing a bronze in the men’s 400m by just 0.02 seconds, Vishal showcased resilience by contributing significantly to India’s gold in the 4x400m mixed relay just two hours later.
