The row over Eden Gardens pitch in Kolkata, continues in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
KKR captain, on Thursday, said that he was happy with the pitch, which has green patches on it. He also added that it is important to get what you want after Eden Garden’s pitch curator said that he never denied anything.
“Looks good, I’m really happy with the pitch, we were also bowling first. It will suit our spinners, at home, you should get what you want, but we’ll need to assess the situation quickly with the bat. We sat together (after the last match), discussed how we can get better, but this is a long tournament and it was one bad day,” Rahane said at the toss.
In response to all the criticism around the Eden Gardens pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee said, “No official or player asked for pitch requirements. A coach merely inquired about the pitch’s behaviour. I said, ‘Ghumega bhi aur accha chalega’ (the pitch will turn, and it will be good for batting),” Mukherjee told SportsTak.
Mukherjee had also said that he follows BCCI guidelines. “I never denied anything to KKR. We have been in good relations for a long time. Those who are accusing me know nothing.”
KKR will be eager to find their way back to top of the IPL 2025 points table after losing two matches from three outings.
SunRisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, are at the eighth spot with a win in three matches.
