Deepika Kumari, Dhiraj Bommadevara Top Podium At National Archery Championships 2024

India’s Olympic archery spearhead Deepika Kumari and Paris 2024 Olympian Dhiraj Bommadevara clinched the top podium finish in women’s and men’s recurve event respectively at the National Archery Championships 2024 in Jamshedpur on Friday.

Deepika withstood her Indian Olympic compatriot Ankita Bhakat 6-2 in the women’s recurve archery final while Bommadevara claimed a 6-2 victory over Divyansh Chaudhary.

This was the first podium finish for the veteran Indian women’s archer under her new coach Rahul Banerjee.

In the men’s compound event, Abhishek Verma, a two-time Asian Games team gold medallist, won the individual title in his category with a 147-145 win over Uday Kamboj while Parneet Kaur dominated the women’s events, clinching two gold and one bronze.
