2025 World Athletics Relays: Nigeria Name 17-Member Squad

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has named a 17-member strong Nigerian squad for the 2025 World Athletics Relays, slated to run on May 10 and 11 in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China.

The team consisting of raw talents, Olympians, and World Champions will look to cement Nigeria’s dominance in track.

Household names like Tobi Amusan, the reigning World and Commonwealth hurdles champion, and Favour Ofili, will carry the Nigerian flag at the marquee event.

The men’s squad includes a formidable lineup led by Udodi Onwuzurike and Favour Ashe.

The top 14 countries in each relay will qualify for the 2025 World Athletics Championships being held later this year in Tokyo, Japan.

Nigeria Squad:

Men’s 4x100m: Alaba Akintola, Favour Ashe, Karlington Anunagba, Olaoye Folawijo, Udodi Onwuzurike, Usheoritse Itsekiri

Women’s 4x100m: Favour Ofili, Justina Eyakpobeyan, Obi Jennifer Chukwuka, Rosemary Chukwuma, Success Umukoro, Tobi Amusan

Mixed 4x100m: Alaba Akintola, Favour Ashe, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, Success Umukoro, Udodi Onwuzurike

Mixed 4x400m: Chidi Okezie, Ifeanyi Ojeli, Ogunmakinju Omolara, Patience Okon-George, Praise Idamadudu, Samson Nathaniel
