India’s top-ranked men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, returned after missing the Badminton Asia Championship, as the 14-member squad for the Sudirman Cup was announced on Tuesday.
The World No. 11 did not participate in the continental championship due to an injury. However, the injured women’s doubles pair, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, will continue to miss the tournament.
The mixed team event comprising 16 nations, will be held in Xiamen, China, from April 27 to May 4.

Women’s Singles – P. V. Sindhu, Anupama Upadhyaya
Men’s Doubles – Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, Hariharan Amsakarunan/Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi
Women’s Doubles – Shruti Mishra/Priya Konjengbam
Mixed Doubles – Tanisha Crasto/Dhruv Kapila, Aadya Variyath/Sathish Kumar
Groups for Sudirman Cup:
Group A – Algeria, China, Hong Kong, China, Thailand
Group B – Canada, Chinese Taipei, Czechia, Korea
Group C – Australia, France, Japan, Malaysia
Group D – Denmark, England, India, Indonesia
The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals.
