Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla said on Tuesday that the Manipur government has decided to develop playgrounds in every village under the ‘Khungang Ama Sanabung Ama’ scheme.
This will allow the state, which has produced Tokyo 2020 silver medalists like Mirabai Chanu, to home many talents.
The Department of Youth Affairs & Sports has been implementing a coaching programme named Regular Coaching Centre (RCC), in 24 sports disciplines since 2002, he said.
Gracing the celebration of Shannaroishingee Numit (Players’ Day) held at the Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, the governor felicitated the veterans for their outstanding contribution towards sports.
