The first World Curling event of 2025 gets underway this weekend as teams from across the world come to Stevenston, Scotland for the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2025. The event will run from March 1-8, 2025.
This will be the last chance for teams to earn the final qualification points to qualify for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
The event will feature 12 teams who have qualified from last year’s championship or through the World Wheelchair-B Curing Championship 2024.
Norway, Canada, China, Sweden, Latvia, Korea, Slovakia and Italy all secured their spot at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2025 based on their performance at last year’s event.
Scotland qualify as hosts, and United States, Japan and England fill the final three places after winning medals at last year’s B-Division competition.

All games at the upcoming World Wheelchair Curling Championships 2025 and World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025 will be available to watch live on the Curling Channel.
Both events will take place at the Auchenharvie Leisure Centre in Stevenston, Scotland. The World Wheelchair Curling Championships 2025 run from March 1-8, with the World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025 to follow between March 10-16.
A sole pass that includes both events will be available, along with day passes. Please note, single game/single event passes will not be available.
World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2025: Playing Format
Teams will be placed into one group and will play a round robin to establish rankings.
The teams ranked 1st and 2nd automatically qualify for the semi-finals and the teams ranked 3rd to 6th will play in qualification games. The winner of those qualification games will proceed to the semi-final. The winners of the semi-finals will play for the gold medal, whilst the losers of the semi-finals will play in the bronze medal game.
Round-robin play will conclude on Thursday March 6, with qualification and semi-final games to follow on Friday March, 7. All medal games will take place on Saturday, March 8.
