After clinching the first match by four wickets, India will look to add to their winning momentum in the second of a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday.
Vice-captain Shubman Gill took charge of his new leadership role with both hands, smashing 87 runs off 96 deliveries to guide India to the target of 249 runs with 11.2 overs to spare.
Shreyas Iyer (59) and Axar Patel (52) also added to the cause after fast bowler Harshit Rana and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scalped three-wicket each to bundle out England to 248 runs.
The visiting captain Jos Buttler (52) and Jacob Bethell (51) displayed England’s middle-order strengths after Phil Salt (43) and Ben Duckett (32) got them off to a good start.
