Kanupriya, a local artist from Bareilly, paid tribute to Olympians Harmanpreet Singh and PR Sreejesh by sketching their portraits on match boxes.
Harmanpreet and Sreejesh were part of the India men’s hockey team which won their second consecutive bronze medal at Paris 2024.
Harmanpreet, the India men’s hockey team captain, was the leading goal scorer while the veteran goalkeeper made his last appearance at last year’s Summer Olympic Games.
These match boxes were pictured in front of prominent places in the city by Abhishek, a local photographer, who later turned it into a calendar.
It was a part of an initiative taken by social worker Sanjeev Jindal, popularly known as Cycle Baba, known for his ideations and contribution to the society.
Furthermore, the calendars will be sold in the local market and the money collected through it will be contributed towards the growth of athletes, practicing at the Sports Stadium , Road Number 4, Izatnagar, Bareilly.
