New Low: 108 Indian In Athletics Integrity Unit List Of Suspended Players

In a new low for Indian athletics, 108 Indian track & field athletes were named in the 29-page Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) list of sanctions for doping and non-doping violations, as of January 1, 2025.

The list includes Tokyo 2020 Olympian Kamalpreet Kaur, the shot putter, who was banned for three years, starting March 29, 2022, due to doping violation.

Her samples had been tested at a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-accredited lab in Lausanne, Switzerland, where she was found positive for consuming the banned substance stanozolol, an anabolic steroid that is in the list of banned substances as per the World Athletics.

India has the second-largest list behind running powerhouse Kenya.
