LA 2028 Hopeful Hima Das Resumes Training In Thiruvananthapuram

Hima Das, a part of the 2018 Asian Games Women’s 4×400m and Mixed 4×400m teams, resumed training in Thiruvananthapuram after completing a 16-month suspension imposed by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on November 21, 2024.

The 24-year-old will be vying for a berth in her first Olympic appearance at LA 2028.

With regards to Das’ anti-doping rule violation case, the NADA announced that the Assam athlete was suspended for 16 months, effective from July 22, 2023, for a whereabouts’ failure.

The ‘Dhing Express’ was suspended under the case resolution agreement as per the NADA website. 

She was provisionally suspended by the NADA last year for three whereabouts failures in 12 months. However, after a hearing by the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP), she was cleared in March.

Meanwhile, the Indian track & field athlete, returned to action in the women’s 200m event at the Indian Grand Prix 1 in Bengaluru on April 30.

The ADDP upheld the Disciplinary Panel’s ruling to clear her of doping charges on September 4.
