The 38th National Games in Uttarakhand has faced early concerns from Kiran Wattal, the Chef-de-Mission of the Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory.
Wattal highlighted that there was a delay in the process of athlete registration with the registration of certain sports disciplines still to be activated on the portal.
Additionally, he also mentioned that there could be a rise in logistical issues with booking train tickets for officials and players becoming difficult due to pre-booking, affecting the overall travel arrangements.
All the participating dignitaries from the J&K for the National Games are still to submit their names.
The Chef-de-Missions meeting, chaired by Sunaina Kumari, Chairperson of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), took place at the National Games Secretariat in Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun.
It was supported by members of the Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), including Maninder Singh and Ravinder Choudhary.
The meeting to improve the preparation process for the National Games included discussions on hotel accommodation, transportation, and medical facilities at both the hotel and competition venues for the athletes.
The GTCC assured that the concerns will be resolved.
The registration portal for the National Games closed at midnight on Tuesday.
