2025 Orleans Masters: Ayush Shetty Enters Quarterfinals; HS Prannoy, Srikanth Kidambi Knocked Out

India’s Ayush Shetty clinched a convincing victory while seasoned Indian shuttlers HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth were knocked out from the 2025 Orleans Masters on Thursday.

The World No.48 overcame Hong Kong’s Jason Gunawan 21-17, 21-17 in the second round. It was a convincing win after he stunned third seeded Loh Kean Yew of Singapore 21-17, 21-9 in the opening round to record one of the biggest wins of his career. Shetty will take on Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke in the next round.

HS Prannoy’s comeback after illness didn’t last long as he lost 18-21, 9-21 to second-seeded Taiwanese player Chun-Yi Lin.

Srikanth Kidambi, meanwhile, lost 11-21, 17-21 to top-seeded Malaysian and Paris Olympics bronze medallist Lee Zii Jia.

In the mixed doubles, Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde handed a walkover to the third-seeded Chinese Taipei pair of Po-Hsuan Yang and Ling Fang Hu while Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy and K. Sai Pratheek lost 16-21, 13-21 to Lee Jhe Huei and Yang Po Hsuan.
