The National Centre Of Excellence in Guwahati will host the Team India preparatory camp for the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship from February 4 to 8.
The continental event will run in Qingdao, China, from February 11-16.
Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and Paris 2024 breakthrough star Lakshya Sen will lead the 14 member team, which won the bronze in 2023.
The team also includes Asian Games gold medalists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, along with Olympian H. S. Prannoy, among others.
“The NCE has been focusing on grooming upcoming juniors since its inception, and hosting a senior team camp here will also allow the juniors an opportunity to learn from the country’s finest while providing India’s top talents with a chance to train together and create an ideal environment for team bonding ahead of this major team event,” said Badminton Association of India secretary general Sanjay Mishra.
“In addition to the technical skills that will be imparted, the camp is designed to strengthen values of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the team members. The players will have a comprehensive development experience that prepares them for the challenges ahead,” he added.
The Indian team will depart for China on February 8.
