India lost the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship quarter-finals 0-3 to a second-Japan team on Friday.

The 2023 bronze medalists struggled to find the rhythm to concede a comprehensive victory to the 2017 edition champion Japan.

Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto lost a three-game mixed doubles clash 13-21, 21-17, 13-21 to Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito.

Malvika Bansod, stepping into the shoes of the injured PV Sindhu, lost 12-21, 19-21 to World No.8 Tomoka Miyazaki, the 2022 World Junior Championships

Seasoned Indian campaigner HS Prannoy displayed his grit against World Number 16 Kenta Nishimoto but the Japanese proved too good by clinching a  21-14, 15-21, 21-12 victory in an hour and 17 minutes.
