The Indian athletes will have a packed schedule in 2024 as the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) unveiled the calendar for the upcoming year. The Indian Athletics Calendar 2024 features 22 domestic tournaments, providing a chance to the young athletes to prove their mettle.
The Indian athletics have prioritised the development of junior athletes to begin 2024 with the 19th National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet in January. Incidentally, 2024 will conclude with the 39th Junior National Athletics Championships in Bhubaneshwar, starting from November 7.
Like every year, since Neeraj Chopra’s historic gold medal in Tokyo 2020, the AFI will host the javelin throw competition across states on the National Javelin Day, on August 7.
The National Open Athletics Championships will run from August 30 to September 2 in Bangalore while the zonal athletics events will commence from October 4 to 9.
